Dear Adele Harrison Middle School (AHMS) Parents:
Welcome back to AHMS as your child returns and/or begins with their journey into their middle school experience at our wonderful Adele Harrison Middle School for the 2010-2011 new year! A time of many changes for them, and especially, for us!
As you may know, I am excited to work with all of you, and to meeting new parents this year. Without our parent involvement, we could not achieve the extra curricular activities, projects, and events that is possible due to our PTO efforts. With our state budget cuts and present state-of-affairs - WE NEED ALL OF YOU TO PLEASE VOLUNTEER THIS YEAR AND BE ACTIVE IN OUR AHMS PTO PROGRAM. The kids and the teachers and staff truly need us and are counting on us for the school's fundraising efforts!
If you haven't signed up yet, you can do so by stopping by at the PTO sign-up table on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week when you register your child. We hope to fill up the few Officer slots we have including another Co-President or VP, plus we need Chair persons to do our Jog-a-thon Fundraiser, 8th Grade promotional dance decorations, grant writers & other fun events throughout the year.
Our first PTO Meeting is in September and we can brainstorm then to discuss our school's needs & activities. Your commitment would actually be attending our monthly PTO meetings. They are only once a month, and we will only meet, I believe, for 8 meetings in one school year, so it's truly not a lot. Most of the fundraising can be achieved through email announcements and donations and very little physical time.
E-scrip is a big fundraiser venue so if you haven't signed up yet, do so immediately at the start of the school so Adele can begin receiving the proceeds from Safeway and other merchants you shop with. Send this opportunity to all your family, relatives, and friends, and walk them through it so that they can check out Adele on the website when they enter their card numbers. Check out the website: www.escrip.com, you would have received some information in the mail or in your registration packet.
Another method to help is to volunteer your time: Remember that just because our kids are in middle school doesn't mean we disappear from being on campus. The teachers and kids truly benefit by having parents volunteer their time throughout the day, so if you have a little time, check in with the Administrative Offices and with your child's teachers, and yard duties to see where help is needed throughout the year.

Bienvenidos a la escuela Adele Harrison para el nuevo curso 2010-2011! Una época de muchos cambios para sus niños, y sobre todo, para nosotros!
Como ustedes saben, estoy entusiasmado de trabajar con todos ustedes, y conocer nuevos padres este año. Sin nuestra participación de los padres, no pudiéramos cumplir las actividades extra curriculares, proyectos y eventos que es posible gracias a los esfuerzos de nuestro PTO, la organizacion de padres y maestros en la escuela Adele Harrison. Con nuestros recortes del presupuesto estatal y el presente estado de cosas - Necesitamos todos que por favor sean voluntarios este año y ser activo en NUESTRO PROGRAMA AHMS PTO. Los niños y los maestros y el personal realmente nos necesitan y cuentan con nosotros para recaudar fondos de la escuela!
Si no se ha inscrito, puede hacerlo por venir a la mesa de registro el martes y el miércoles de esta semana cuando se registre a su hijo. Esperamos llenar los pocos espacios que tenemos Oficial incluyendo otra Co-Presidente o Vicepresidente, además de que necesitamos las personas para hacer nuestro Presidente Jog-a-thon Recaudación de Fondos, 8 º Grado decoraciones promocionales danza, escritores de subvención y otros eventos divertidos durante todo el año. Nuestra primera toma de fuerza de la reunión es en septiembre y donde revisaremos las ideas que podemos tranmitir para las necesidades de nuestra escuela y actividades. Su compromiso realmente que asista a nuestras reuniones mensuales de la PTO. Son sólo una vez al mes, y sólo se reunirá, según creo, como 8 de reuniones en un año escolar, lo que no es realmente mucho. La mayor parte de la recaudación de fondos se puede lograr a través de anuncios de correo electrónico y las donaciones y el tiempo físico realmente es muy poco de su parte. Yo siendo hispana quisiera que mas padres hispanos puedan registrarsen al programa para equilibrar y influenciar mas ideas al colegio y ser parte de las decisiones.
E-scrip es un website en la computadora para recaudar fondos así que si no se ha inscrito, hágalo inmediatamente al comienzo de la escuela para que Adele puede empezar a recibir las ganancias que Safeway y los comerciantes contribuyen cuando Uds. compran en estos sitios. Les pueden decir a toda la familia, parientes y amigos, que también se inscriben a E-scrip en la computadora. Pueden ir a la página web: www.escrip.com, para mas información.
Otro método para ayudar es donar su tiempo: Recuerda que sólo porque nuestros hijos están en la escuela media no significa desaparecemos del campus. Los maestros y los niños realmente se benefician al tener los padres ofrecen su tiempo durante todo el ano, así que si tienes un poco de tiempo, por favor vengar a las oficinas de Administración para ser voluntarios en el patio o en el almuerzo, por las mañanas o tardes.
