Ever since my early days of being a docent naturalist at the Fairfield Osborne Preserve and the Bouverie Preserve, I knew that I wanted to be a science teacher. I earned my BA degree in biology and my teaching credential at Sonoma State University. I have been teaching for 23 years, and I learn more every day! I started my career at Altimira Middle School, and moved to Adele Harrison when the school opened in 2001. I originally intended to teach elementary school, but found that I absolutely love middle school students, and haven’t looked back. I think that all kids naturally are curious about the world, and I strive every day to encourage that curiosity and quest for understanding in my science and horticulture classes. When I am not at school, I love to spend my time gardening, hiking, playing guitar, enjoying nature, and spending time in the mountains with my husband and our team of awesome sled dogs. » read more...
